Award-winning Film and Theatre "in its purest form"
This is a short film made at film school. The task was to make a film based on a 'faits divers' a French phrase that has no literal translation into English. It means 'something that happened' of a unexpected nature, a true even that is a little surprising. I do not wish to kill the story or punch line so I will not tell you here, but a clue is when a woman does something that is presumed to be what a man could do, it surprises.
In the subtext here though there is a reference to violence against women. Where I fail, reflecting on the film several years later is the damage done to assaulted women is far greater than the aggression my character experiences and the legacy of his experience is far less than that of a aggressed woman.
