Royal Flush is a new play that has now finished its sell-out first tour of Spain.

 

The play was seen by around 31,000 audience members and visited the following cities:

CASTELLON

VALENCIA

ZARAGOZA

MADRID

BARCELONA

GIJON

SANTANDER

LUGO

BURGOS

 

The play combines two classics: the Beautiful Scullerymaid by Cervantes, and the Taming of the Shrew by Shakespeare, both plays that involve men lying and using fake identities to win their loves.

 

Shakespeare and Cervantes are considered the greatest writers of England and Spain respectively, and both died 400 years ago this year (2016).

 

Our play is set in the modern day, in the recording studio of two sisters, Kate and Bianca. The play includes live music and some doubling by the cast of four.

 

As with all our plays, we tackle real world issues. In this case, the play challenges gender bias, and show the risks of eating disorders.
